Congratulations to Hodgy-Wodgy, the Labour Member of Parliament, for the sharp rap
over the knuckels she recently gave Starbucks and other wicked multinationals for
their entirely legal tax avoidance efforts.
But there is just one fly in the ointment: Margaret
Hodge herself is one of the country’s leading tax avoiders. The corporation in
which she has a holding worth several million paid 0.25% tax on its profits in
the UK.
Plus she is making strenuous efforts to ensure her
children pay the minimum possible inheritance tax on the several million she
will leave them. See here, here and here.
